Micah Ethos
Micah 6:8 declares, “And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God?” Embracing this threefold challenge of justice, mercy, and walking humbly, we call this our “Micah ethos,” and it gives us a vision for the partners we support globally and locally.
Justice
We’ll support one global and one local justice cause, that is, some project to challenge injustice or oppression in the world. Globally, we’re still evaluating potential partners. Locally, we work with the Charleston Area Justice Ministry (also known as CAJM).
Mercy
We’ll support one global and one local mercy cause, that is, some project to alleviate suffering or provide healing in the world. Globally, we partner with a Cuban church in a rural town called Caibarien that is serving an elderly population. Locally, we do a neighborhood grocery distribution.
Walk Humbly
We support one global and one local mission cause, that is, some project to humbly share the gospel of Jesus Christ as we walk through the world. Globally, we partner with a Cuban church in a working-class suburb called Guanabacoa that is pioneering a local school. Locally, we partner the Presbyterian Campus Ministry for college students at the College of Charleston and the Citadel.
